Complete ARC Raiders PvE Overview: Rules, Loot Changes and Test Dates

Ephraim

ARC Raiders has launched a highly anticipated limited-time PvE mode. Designed specifically for players who prefer cooperative PvE gameplay - focusing on scavenging, combat, and extraction - this mode removes friendly fire and player-versus-player (PvP) combat. Players can concentrate entirely on battling AI-controlled ARC units, exploring the map for resources, and completing extraction objectives.

PvE Mode Overview

The PvE test runs from October 13 to October 20. It is a selectable, limited-time option rather than a permanent addition to the game. Players can toggle between the standard PvPvE mode and the new PvE mode via the matchmaking screen; progress in each mode is tracked independently.

The core rules for the PvE mode are straightforward: all player-inflicted damage is disabled. You cannot harm your own squadmates, nor can other players attack you - all threats come exclusively from ARC units. The game's alarm system remains fully intact; triggering an alarm will cause ARC enemies - such as Bullies, Skulkers, and Hydras - to arrive as reinforcements, significantly increasing the intensity of the match.

Although the threat of ambushes by other players is removed, the extraction countdown, inventory weight limits, and rules regarding extraction points remain in place. Failing to extract means losing all the loot collected during the session, ensuring the stakes remain consistent with the original game.

To balance the rewards in PvE mode, the developers have adjusted the loot drop rates. While the probability of finding rare items is lower compared to the PvPvE version, the yield of basic crafting materials in high-security zones has been increased.

Common supplies, components, and medical items are easier to acquire, making this mode ideal for farming foundational crafting resources. High-value containers - such as vaults, reinforced supply crates, and event chests - still offer a chance to obtain rare gear and ARC Raiders blueprints. Without the pressure of competing against other players for these high-value containers, the PvE mode provides a low-stress way to hunt for blueprints.

This PvE test is an excellent opportunity for newcomers to familiarize themselves with the maps and practice combat against ARC units, as well as a great way for any player to farm crafting materials and blueprints. It is perfect for those who prefer to avoid the unpredictability of PvP raids and simply want to focus on scavenging resources and unlocking new recipes.

Alternatively, if you prefer to avoid the repetitive grind of scavenging for items - and the time lost from failed extractions - you can simply buy ARC Raiders items directly. Materials gathered during PvE sessions, combined with unlocked blueprints, allow you to mass-produce gear at your base’s workshops. The PvE mode yields a wealth of foundational components used to craft various ARC Raiders items; whether you need gear for a single run or are looking to build "meta" weapons for the long term, this PvE-based farming system provides a reliable way to accumulate resources.

During the PvE test, your primary focus should be on collecting blueprints. Prioritize searching locked containers in high-threat zones, as these are the main source of blueprints. Once you've secured a blueprint, plan your extraction route immediately - don't risk everything by lingering to scavenge for extra loot. If you're aiming to collect multiple blueprints, playing as part of a squad is a safer bet; your teammates can help clear out ARC units and provide cover, ensuring that whoever is carrying the blueprints reaches the extraction point safely.

Summary

This PvE test serves as a crucial experiment for Embark Studios to gather player feedback. If the data proves positive, there is a possibility that a PvE matchmaking option could be retained in the long term. Any ARC Raiders items - including blueprints, gear, and materials - acquired during the test will carry over to the live servers, so you don't need to worry about your progress being wiped once the test concludes.

Take this opportunity to fill in gaps in your weapon blueprint collection and expand the recipe libraries at your base's Gunsmith and Gear Bench stations, setting yourself up for success in the game's standard modes.

In short, this ARC Raiders PvE test reduces the pressure of player-versus-player combat and adjusts loot distribution, offering a fresh way to farm resources. You can practice your combat skills and scavenge for blueprints and supplies without the interference of other players. Be sure to make the most of the testing window from October 13th to 20th - plan your extraction routes carefully and farm your blueprints and gear efficiently!
